Welcome to where fire dances and glass sings

I'm Josh Newland, an independent glassblower tucked away in the stunning landscapes of South Wales.

About Me

I am Joshua Newland, a 22 year old young man.

When not boarding at my college in Stourbridge (West Midlands), I live in the countryside surrounded by fields and woods and holiday in France near to my grandparents (I am half French through my Mother’s side).

I see the world my way, I am Asperger and ADHD to name only a few of my difficulties.

During my early teens, my education was very complicated and fragmented, and I spent a long time at home with no education. This was a very dark and troubled period of my life.

However, after a long fight and the support of my parents I was able to get into the Glasshouse College (Stourbridge), where I found and developed my passion for glassblowing.

My favourite colour changes with my mood but at the moment it is purple. I love reading and listening to books, I like different music styles and I am a proud nerd with my D&D (Dungeons & Dragons) and online gaming. I love going to the theatre & musicals, nature, swimming, reading and Manga.

I enjoy cooking using mainly organic and local food, without meat (I am a pescatarian). I really enjoy Japanese food. I am also very keen on being green, environmentally aware and try to be as chemical-free as possible.

We received the planning permission for my studio, solar panels will run my furnace and my kiln.

I have sustainable packaging, and use recyclables where possible.

Where Art & Nature Collide

From Crayons to Canvas

Picture a tiny me in preschool, eyes gleaming, chubby little hands wrapped around crayons and paintbrushes. As I grew, my tools evolved, my techniques refined, but that childlike wonder never faded.

My Media

From Crayons to Canvas

I embrace an expansive range of materials, from the tactile earthiness of clay to the bold strokes of acrylics, and the soft whispers of pastels.

When I am not playing with glass, I am spending time in nature, hiking and enjoying the flora and fauna. These wanderings aren't just a hobby; they're the lifeblood and inspiration of my art.
